1992 Catalina 2 cabin pullman
Highly sought-after Catalina 42'
The Shenachie II is a highly desirable vessel and this boat has been loved and served its current family for over 2 decades and now it is ready to take the next group on their adventure! As the name states, it is a teller of old tales and traditions, and will gladly take you, family and friends to places to start your own. It has spent the bulk of its moorage time in Lake Washington 1999-2020 and the other in Puget Sound; it loves to explore and has the room to share.
The Catalina 42 is an adaptation of an earlier racing hull designed by Nelson/Marek with a new deck and coach roof, interior and rig. Two versions of the Catalina 42 have been built, each in a two-or three-stateroom configuration. The Shenachie II is a 2 stateroom double pullman model that allows for an expanded salon space and far larger galley on the port side.
Aside from changing to a more European style rounded stern, the primary difference between the MK I and MK II is the size and arrangement of the cockpits. The MK I has a larger unobstructed cockpit which tends to be a bit more practical for sailing.
Just about everything else—the hull, deck, accessories, auxiliary engine and standing rigging—are virtually identical in both the MK I and MK II. It is thought that more than 1000 Catalina 42's have been built, including the MKII, making it one of the most popular sailboats in its class ever!
Many new upgrades and parts:
All new rigging (3/2022), All new steering (2021), Rebuilt engine with complete exhaust system (9/2019) and only a 130 hours currently, New hot water tank (9/2019) and a recent hull clean with zincs (2/2022).
Now is your chance to own a Catalina 42 and begin telling tales and sharing traditions!
